Tell Me a Story
I hope that by now, you have received your June issue of GPN and that you’ve had a chance to read it.
In case you haven’t had an opportunity to check it out yet, be sure you read Jasmina Dolce’s article, “Storytelling at the Trials,” to learn about some of the major trends that we observed at California Spring Trials back in April.
There is so much to learn about during Spring Trials, and Jasmina does a great job highlighting this year’s trends.
One trend that we really noticed was that the breeding companies and other Spring Trials exhibitors were really focused on telling visitors their unique stories to reach today’s consumers and help growers be more successful.
Other trends in Jasmina’s article include the continued growth in the cut flower category; finding new plants for the shoulder seasons; taking advantage of live goods as gifts; implementing new production efficiencies that can impact the bottom line; and the continued streamlining of many breeding programs.
Next month, Jasmina will be highlighting many of the new varieties that made their debut at the Trials. You’ll definitely want to check it out, so be on the lookout for the July issue in the coming weeks.
Meet, Mix, Mingle
I just wanted to remind you that if you are headed to Cultivate’18 next month, you will have a chance to meet many of the members of GPN’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2018.
On Monday, July 16, at 10:30 a.m., there will be a special Mix ‘n Mingle session with the Class of 2018. It will take place in the AmericanHort member booth on the show floor of the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The session is free to all attendees.
