Cara Summerford

• Selected to her current position after working at the farm for the last 10 years as customer service, inventory control, farm administrator, human resources manager and finally general manager.
• Adjusted to the labor shortage by putting in place processes that allow for a reduced labor force, but at the same time meeting production and sales goals, while keeping the safety standards and employee needs a first-in-line priority.

In the Saddle: As a young woman, Cara’s passion was riding and competing in the Cutting Horse Championships. Now, her 4-year-old Kalli is just old enough to start helping with the horses, with her 8-month-old brother not far behind.

Gone Fishing: Cara loves to fish and enjoys all the technology used for catching them. For her, it’s “a lesson in great patience.”
