Accomplishments

What 3 to 4 professional and/or personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

  • Graduating college with a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from University of Portland. Even though I never ended up using the degree as was intended, it was a great personal goal to graduate.
  • My time and growth at Little Prince of Oregon Nursery. I have held several different positions, from a crew member, to delivery driver, to office help, inventory, shipping and logistics, and now mainly sales.
  • Finding financial stability for myself.

What led you to work in the horticulture industry?

  • I sort of landed in this industry through luck and happenstance. I worked my way up the past few years into the office and really found my stride.

What’s the best thing about your job? (Please select one)

  • The company environment

Describe to a 6-year-old what you do in life?

  • I sell plants to places that sell plants for your home gardens. I deal with customer problems and make sure they are satisfied every step of the way.

Extracurricular

What are your favorite hobbies?

  • Hiking
  • Biking
  • Reading
  • Rock hounding
  • Kayaking
  • Running/working out

When you’re not working, what are 2 to 3 things we could find you doing?

  • In a used book, thrift or antique store
  • Wandering Portland for the best food spots
  • I’m also a TV and movie buff, so I might be found watching old or new favorites
  • I love live concerts, especially outdoor venues on a nice, temperate summer day

Fun Facts

Do you have any unusual talents, or can you tell us something interesting about yourself that other people may be surprised to find out?

  • I have found Woolly Mammoth teeth three separate times while scouring the Willamette River in Oregon for rocks and fossils. They are now displayed on my book shelf.

One thing you can’t live without?

  • Music, anytime I can get it. I am always looking for new stuff.

What are you (un)secretly good at?

  • Random trivia

What are your top three bucket list items?

  • Being a homeowner. Traveling to every continent (minus Antarctica, but who knows?).

What’s your favorite plant variety and why?

  • I love Japanese maples, in combination, with different colors, leaf shapes and growth patterns. In general, I love woodland gardens.

You’re buying a vacation package to anywhere in the world without a budget, where are you going?

  • I would love to take a long summer trip and travel through Denmark, Sweden and Norway, visiting the gorgeous fjords and experiencing the city life.
