Virginia Tech Teaches Team TrainingSource: Virginia Tech Department of Horticulture

From Aug. 18 to 22, Growing Places Marketing will partner with Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., to offer a four-day, hands-on team workshop called “Store School.”

The workshop is geared to independent garden centers and focuses on consumer-based retailing.

The program will cover store-development issues such as:

  • Consumer marketing
  • Physical layout
  • Product selection
  • Product placement
  • Store branding

Attendees will participate in classes and retail team activities led by Judy Sharpton of Growing Places Marketing. Sharpton will also offer an optional day-long workshop involving individual store evaluations and recommendations.
