The Florida Nursery, Growers & Landscape Association's Nominating Committee has announced its recommendations for its 2013-2014 officers.

The Florida Nursery, Growers & Landscape Association’s (FNGLA) Nominating Committee has announced its recommendations for its 2013-2014 officers. Mike Marshall of Marshall Tree Farm in Morriston, Fla., will advance from president-elect to president for the year. He has served FNGLA as a committee member and chairman of The Great Southern Tree Conference, chaired its budget committee, is a Woody Division leader and served on its board of directors. Sandy Stein has been nominated to serve as president-elect. He started in the nursery business in 1981 and serves FNGLA’s Miami-Dade Chapter in many capacities including president. He has also served on the FNGLA board of directors and as the Woody Division board representative. He serves as the membership committee chairman. He is the owner of The Jungle Nursery in Miami, Fla. and also a licensed psychotherapist. Recommended to serve as secretary/treasurery, Billy Butterfield became active in FNGLA through his interest in its landscape certification program. He has served on its certification committee and is one of the most experienced and rigorous certification exam judges. He has served FNGLA’s action chapter in many capacities including president and has also served on FNGLA’s board of directors, the membership committee and as a committee member for The Landscape Show. He owns Ameriscapes Landscape Management Services in Orlando, Fla. Wes Parrish will now serve as past president. He has been a member of FNGLA since 1979, serving the association in a variety of positions including president of the National Foliage Foundation (NFF), as well as treasurer and committee member for The Landscape Show. He has also been on FNGLA’s board of directors, active in the Broward Chapter, and a member of the Florida Garden Select jury. Wes and his wife Vickie own Parrish Nursery in Parkland, Fla.
