Emerald Coast Growers has added an 18,432-square-foot greenhouse to their Milton, Fla., location.

Emerald Coast Growers has added an 18,432-square-foot greenhouse to their Milton, Fla., location. The new house will be used primarily for grass production, and with the expansion, Emerald Coast Growers can now hold nearly 200,000 trays at its Florida locations. “The natural venting setup of this style of house gives us a low input way to battle the high temperatures we see during our extended summer,” says head grower and general manager Josiah Raymer. The new gutter-connected greenhouse features double inflated poly tops with shade cloth and roll-up sidewalls. It’s equipped with high pressure sodium (HPS) lighting, Schaefer horizontal air flow (HAF) fans, Netafim irrigation, Phytotronics mist control systems and Hired Hand heaters.
