On Jan. 22, Electronic Grower Resources Online (e-GRO) launched the third year of e-GRO Alert. The goal of the newsletter is to inform growers of insect, disease, nutritional or physiological growth situations occurring in production greenhouses. e-GRO, a collaborative effort of floriculture specialists, will send out weekly updates during the spring 2014 cropping cycle starting Jan. 22 through April 28. The format will focus on a single problem with management strategies and color photographs. To expand its coverage, e-GRO has added Dr. Kristin Getter from Michigan State University to its team. Now there are eight contributors from seven states. The American Floral Endowment is providing funding again for this year’s newsletter. For more information on e-GRO or a free subscription to the newsletter, visit www.e-gro.org/alert.php.
