Poinsettia Open Houses Set to Take Place

‘Tis the season for poinsettia open houses …

The Millstadt Young Plants/N.G. Heimos 2018 Poinsettia Trials and Open House is set to meet on Nov. 15, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Millstadt, Illinois. The open house will feature a comparison trial of hundreds of poinsettia varieties from six different breeders: Beekenkamp, Ball/Selecta, Dümmen Orange, Rinehart, Syngenta and Suntory. North Carolina State University’s Poinsettia Open House (Industry) is slated for Nov. 29, at the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, North Carolina. An open house for consumers will take place on Dec. 2. Contact Barbara Fair at fair@ncsu.edu for additional info.

Mitchell’s Nursery & Greenhouse’s annual poinsettia open house will take place on Dec. 2, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m., in, King, North Carolina. The 2018 University of Florida Poinsettia Industry Trials will take place Dec. 4, from 9 am until 2:30 p.m., at the UF Environmental Horticulture Greenhouse Complex in Gainesville, Florida. The latest poinsettia varieties will be evaluated in the National Poinsettia Trials along with research from the UF IFAS Environmental Horticulture Dept. Click here to learn more.
