Nexus Founder Passes Away

Donald McCrimmon, the founder of Nexus Greenhouse Corp., passed away in Colorado on March 8, 2019. He was 93.

McCrimmon founded Nexus in the 1960s. His background as an engineer helped the company to answer the horticulture industry’s need for a well-built greenhouse that would meet building requirements and withstand severe weather. Because of his founding principles, Nexus became synonymous with the term “well-built greenhouse.”

He sold the company to Mike Porter and Cheryl Longtin in 1994. Today, the company is owned by Gibraltar Industries.

Prior to founding Nexus, McCrimmon founded Dalco Engineering Co., a steel fabricating company in Colorado.

McCrimmon is survived by his son, Kirk McCrimmon (Renee), and daughter, Donna Kaiser (Craig), along with eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte, and their son Neal.

Funeral services took place March 12, 2019 in Broomfield, Colorado.
