Lumileds Shows Sustainability Progress in Annual Report

Lighting solutions provider Lumileds recently made public its 2021 Sustainability Report detailing how the company supports the transition to a low-carbon and sustainable economy.

Lighting solutions improve energy usage, safety, and health and well-being, according to the report. Lumileds follows a formalized sustainability agenda that identifies specific priorities and tracks progress.

In 2021, the company averted 8.60 million metric tons of use-phase Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) through its LED products.

Lumileds operations in Malaysia fully transitioned to 100% renewable electricity and operations in the United States transitioned to at least 40% renewable energy. This allows the company to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 Carbon Footprint with more than 40%.

Other highlights covered in the report include safety awards for Lumileds’ manufacturing sites in Poland and Malaysia, underlining health and safety as Lumileds’ highest priority.
