National Wave Day celebrates petunias and pansies
Wave petunias from PanAmerican Seed will launch National Wave Day on May 3, 2025, marking the start of a dedicated consumer gardening holiday. The event aims to promote Wave petunias and pansies while supporting garden centers and greenhouse growers with increased consumer engagement.
To assist growers and retailers, PanAmerican Seed has introduced a downloadable Wave Promo Kit. Resources include in-store videos, social media graphics, promotional materials such as posters and banners, and fun activities like coloring pages and event invites. A newly updated “Add Your Business” tool on wavegardening.com helps garden centers attract shoppers by enabling customers to locate nearby stores carrying Wave products.
“There are so many ways to participate in all the excitement in 2025,” said Sarah Makiejus, global marketing manager for PanAmerican Seed and Wave brand manager. “We can’t wait to see the media buzz explode around Wave petunias and Wave pansies.”
Additional initiatives include regional potting parties, sponsorships like the Philadelphia Flower Show and artistic collaborations to highlight the Wave brand’s 30th anniversary. Greenhouses are encouraged to secure seeds and plugs early to ensure availability.
