OASIS Eleganz foliage cleaner launches for greenhouse growers

Oasis Grower Solutions has introduced OASIS Eleganz Liquid Leaf Clean, Shine and Protect, a concentrate designed to remove production residues from foliage plants and improve retail presentation for greenhouse growers and plant retailers.

The product targets calcium deposits, pesticide residue and other marks that can reduce plant value during commercial production. It is intended for use on foliage crops through common greenhouse application methods, including handheld, backpack and boom sprayers.

According to the company, the water-soluble concentrate lifts residue, dries quickly and adds a controlled level of shine without leaving oily buildup. Dilution rates can be adjusted based on crop needs and desired finish. The formulation is also intended to help limit moisture loss during shipping and retail handling, which can affect shelf life and shrink.

Vijay Rapaka, director of global grower operations and research for Smithers-Oasis, said the product was developed to combine multiple steps into one application. “We wanted something all-in-one, scalable and economical,” Rapaka said.

OASIS Eleganz is the first postharvest research collaboration between Oasis Grower Solutions and FloraLife, both divisions of Smithers-Oasis. Research teams from both groups worked together to develop and test the formulation for commercial foliage production.

The product is available in North America in 1-, 5-, 15- and 55-gallon containers. It joins the company’s existing postharvest and production aid offerings for floriculture, nursery and controlled environment agriculture markets.
