MSU Updates Insect, Disease Management Recommendations for ‘20
Just in time for the spring season, Michigan State University Extension recently released updates to its pest and disease management recommendations for 2020.
Growers looking for tools to fight greenhouse pests and diseases can now access the latest information from Mary Hausbeck, Michigan State University Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences; David Smitley, Michigan State University; and Heidi Lindberg, Michigan State University Extension.
MSU updates its recommendations each year to “reflect efficacy of pesticides as MSU Extension specialists and their nationwide colleagues perform research trials evaluating the products against common greenhouse insects, mites or diseases.”
Entomology specialist Smitley updated “Greenhouse Pest Management with Insecticides” with the latest products to control whiteflies, aphids, spider mites, thrips, broad and cyclamen mites, mealy bugs, fungus gnats and Florida fern caterpillar. Click here to access the guide.
You can find Extension plant pathologist Hausbeck’s latest information on “Greenhouse Disease Management” by clicking here. The report has new data on products for fighting diseases like Botrytis, powdery and downy mildew, Phytophthora, Pythium, Thielaviopsos and other bacterial diseases.
