National Lawn & Garden Show Takes Attendees Out to The Ball GameSource: National Lawn & Garden Show

For it’s one, two, three strikes¦ You’re in!”

In addition to its signature pre-arranged appointment format, the National Lawn & Garden Show (NLGS) is also known for its entertaining networking and social events. This year’s show, scheduled for Tuesday through Thursday, June 10 to 12, at the Westin Chicago North Shore in Wheeling, Ill., will continue this tradition as its popular Vendors In Action (VIA) event heads to Wrigley Field on Tuesday night for a Chicago Cubs game against the Atlanta Braves.

“Networking and relationship-building are the key elements in this show’s success,” says Bob Mikulas, president of Controlled Marketing Conferences, Inc. (CMC), which owns NLGS. “The VIA sponsorship offers vendors the advantage of interacting in a relaxed setting with attendees.”

As part of the evening’s package, participating vendors will join buyers as a private shuttle takes the group from the Westin Chicago North Shore to Wrigley Field. Attendees will have the chance to cheer on their favorite team and enjoy snacks and refreshments throughout the evening. The shuttle will return the group to the Westin after the game.

NLGS is known for its unique “reverse trade show” format of guaranteed, pre-arranged scheduled appointments. More than 200 exhibiting companies will be on hand this year to showcase their newest introductions to an exclusive group of buyers attending this invitation-only event. Buyers include high-volume retailers and distributors with extensive purchasing authority, including some multiunit independent garden centers.
