GrowIt!, NWF Work Together to Promote Gardening, Wildlife

GrowIt! is partnering with the National Wildlife Federation to help promote the Garden for Wildlife Program during Garden for Wildlife month in May.

The National Wildlife Federation’s Garden for Wildlife program is celebrating 45 years of helping Americans create beautiful spaces that provide wildlife with food, water, cover, and a place to raise their young. Last year, thousands of people on GrowIt! helped spread the #Garden4Wildlife message.

GrowIt! is the go-to mobile community for people searching for plant and gardening information.

We’re working with the National Wildlife Federation to help show the GrowIt! community, and all of North America, how they can have a beautiful garden, while promoting a healthy ecosystem. Gardeners can create a full habitat in their garden by providing food, water, shelter, and a place to raise young.

The goal is to inspire more people to think about wildlife when they are in their gardens. Users are asked to capture pictures of critters and what they’re doing to promote habitats in their yards, and post them to GrowIt! with the hashtag #Garden4Wildlife to show others how they can also work to be better stewards of the environment.
