As part of the Irrigation Pathogens and Water Quality webinar series, “Substrate Management Practices Vital for Pathogen Risk Mitigation” will be held Tuesday May 6, 2014 from noon until 1 p.m. EST.

As part of the Irrigation Pathogens and Water Quality webinar series, “Substrate Management Practices Vital for Pathogen Risk Mitigation” will take place May 6, 2014 from noon until 1 p.m. EST.

Dr. Andrew Ristvey, extension specialist – commercial horticulture at the University of Maryland Extension, will present management practices for mitigating the risk of pathogens entering and negatively affecting the production system. Participants in the webinar will learn some methods of effective substrate management, from initial inspection of media to well after the plants have been dibbled in. They will learn how and why these methods are necessary through discussion of theory and practical implementation of best management practices.

Each webinar in the series is qualified for one Certified Horticulturalist CEU in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
