Accomplishments
- Earned her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, working on replacing peat moss with biochar as a container substrate component for greenhouse plant production and then spent approximately a year as a postdoc associate at University of Florida before her move to Georgia.
- Established an applied research program at UGA focusing on ornamental production to help growers increase their profitability.
- Selected as an American Society for Horticultural Science graduate scholar and outstanding student, and participated in the National Floral Forum.
Extracurricular
Adrenaline Pumping: Ping went skydiving on her birthday four years ago and is currently training for a marathon.
Fun Facts
Not Too Hot: She can’t get enough hot pot, a traditional Sichuan food that you boil everything you like into a spicy soup: “Ironic thing is I can’t handle spicy well like other Sichuan people.”
