• Does therapeutic horticulture work with disabled and wellness populations to help (re)connect people with plants/gardening regardless of their life circumstances — notably in vocational and rehabilitation programs with incarcerated men, resettled refugees and older adults living with memory loss.
• Lived and studied abroad at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London, England.

Mother Nature Lover: Susan can’t live without nature for its inspiration and to stay grounded.

Horticulture is in the Family Tree: As a second-generation horticulturist (her father was a horticulture Extension specialist), Susan jokes that she got her start in horticulture as a child model posing in photos standing next to plants like large hostas to show their real-life scale.
