Bloomin’ Easy Plants joins GardenChoice breeding alliance
GardenChoice has added Bloomin’ Easy Plants Inc. as a full partner, strengthening its mission to bring independent plant breeders’ genetics to the global market.
The announcement was made July 15 during Cultivate ’25 in Columbus, Ohio. Bloomin’ Easy joins the strategic partnership that already includes GardenGenetics LLC, Zabo Plant and Pioneer Gardens.
“We’re all passionate about bringing the best genetics from independent breeders to the market, and Bloomin’ Easy strengthens our networks and broadens our ability to introduce these amazing plants,” said Ko Klaver, GardenChoice chairman and Zabo Plant USA partner.
Based in Canada, Bloomin’ Easy focuses on improved genetics targeted toward young homeowners. The company purchased its partnership stake from Eason Horticultural Resources, which is shifting focus after becoming employee-owned.
Bloomin’ Easy president DeVonne Friesen said the partnership aligns with their goal of helping new gardeners succeed through improved plant traits like disease resistance, flowering performance and unique forms.
Rick Grazzini, founder of GardenGenetics, said the expanded GardenChoice team will enhance breeder support and product offerings for growers and retailers.
